"𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗣𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲" 2018 &19 was inspired by a young kids global quest to witness a real volcano. Prior to traveling to Iceland, my research on the subglacial volcano Eyjafjallajökull, infamous for its 2010 ash plume disrupting global air travel, laid the groundwork for this piece.
Evolving from a pencil drawing to acrylic and then oil paints, this series marked the artist's venture into animation, depicting the dynamic nature of volcanic systems.
"𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮.𝟬" 2021 powerfully signifies the global challenges of temperature rise & glacial melting driven by fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions. This special limited edition, iteration of the original (2018) oil on canvas painting, reflects the artist's dedication to climate solutions through art, advocacy, & inspiring others to join the climate movement. The piece underscores the urgency, to prevent projected potential ice-free Arctic summers by 2040.
“𝗔 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗢𝗻 𝗘𝘅𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗕𝗗-𝟭𝟳 𝟲𝟯𝗯 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗹𝗮" captures the artist's vision of a tree encountered during their global adventures. Painted at school upon returning, the piece envisions this tree as otherworldly, belonging to a strange planet adorned with snow-covered, similar trees.
The artwork beautifully blends the artist's real-life experiences with a touch of imagination, creating a captivating portrayal of nature from an extraterrestrial perspective.
